Effective July 1, 2006 a Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) mandate (European Union Directive 2002/95/EC) regarding electrical and electronic products was instituted within the European Union. The RoHS mandate aims to protect human health and the environment by restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in new equipment, and consists of restrictions on lead, mercury, cadmium and other substances.

As of July1, 2006, CMS Products has shipped products that meet or exceed industry standards and comply with RoHS requirements.
